Halloween Plans?

Do you have anything exciting planned for Halloween?

I love Halloween, but we live in the country and it’s not as fun as it was in the suburbs of Chicagoland. We get 15-20 trick-or-treaters spread out over 2 hours…so it’s kind of dull. I give out bags of candy containing about 6 pieces of mini whatever is on sale.

Do you decorate the house still despite getting so few trick-or-treaters? Do you visit any haunted houses or mazes?

I used to decorate it because my daughter would come over and see it. But now she’s so busy and no longer has a car, so I don’t do too much. Maybe I’ll grab a few things to place out, but really not much at all. One year we went wild by our doorway with decorations and we only got like 12 kids and that was disappointing.

I don’t do the Haunted Houses anymore and the mazes usually aggravate my husband’s allergies and asthma, so we don’t bother.

I'm sorry to hear that he can't do them because of asthma. I had that growing up and know how much of a pain it can be.

I don't bother decorating much for anything other than Christmas. I might try to do some decorating this year, we'll see.

I used to have tons of Halloween decorations!! I gave most away to my nieces and nephew when we moved and now it’s down to 2 bins in the basement. It’s so much work to go through that little cubby under the stairs for all the holiday stuff.

Understandable! I might buy a few lawn decorations this year or next. I usually decorate for Christmas and that's it.

Now that should get a lot of curious runners!! I know my daughter would jump on that! What would be cool is if you could have a podcast in place for the run with timing of certain spots on the trail that gives information. Everyone could wear their beats ear buds to listen in and that way everyone could “hear” you and you’ll never be out of breath.
